Blueprints are among the strongest tools in Decaying Winter, because a crafted gun comes with a full magazine and the blueprint itself is never consumed. This page covers how crafting works and the real costs the beginner guide documents, so you can turn scrap into survival.
Scrapper and salvage
The Scrapper is a green container with an arrow found at every location. Hold an item you don't need and interact to destroy it for salvage — guns yield 13–28, melees around 8–25. Most blueprints need 50 or 100 salvage to craft at a workbench.
Workbench crafting
Take a blueprint and enough salvage to a workbench, interact to place it, then interact again to craft. Workbenches spawn around the map but can be scarce between waves six and nine, so grab one when you can. The blueprint stays in your inventory for infinite use.
Craftable melee costs
The Decimator costs 100 scrap and is the creators' favorite melee. Firerier Axe costs 50, Maria costs 100 (fast attacks), Executioner Sword costs 100 (gain 5 HP per kill), Artisan's Hook costs 100 (stuns weak enemies), and Reaper's Scythe costs 100 with a dash-stun heavy.
Hand-crafting basics
Combine wood and stone without a blueprint: wood + wood makes Wood Scrap, stone + stone makes Stone Scrap, and sequences build Crude Bandage, Crafted Knife, Crafted Quiver, Crafted Caltrops, Crafted Punjis, Crafted Splint, Crafted Bow, and Crafted Pavise. Follow the exact steps or the recipe fails.
